Dismal Prospects for a Christian Theology of Gender | |
I read this paper at a research seminar in the Dept of Theology and Religion at Exeter University in June 2010. As I was writing my forthcoming book, God, Sex and Gender - An Introduction (Wiley-Blackwell, 2011) I was forced to think about gender harder than ever before. This paper suggests the direction I think Christian thought should take with regard to gender status and gender relations. Readers will soon detect my impatience with the prevarication, evasion, and naked sexism to be found in the churches about the ordination and status of women. |
