| I gave this talk at Chester Cathedral in February 2017. It is short (15 minutes), and part of the second forum, run by the Department of Theology of the University of Chester, entitled 'Sexuality and Anglican Identities'. The panellists were asked to try to anticipate future developments in gender and sexuality studies, and appropriate theological responses to these. I suggest in the talk that current Anglican thinking is marred by amnesia towards the past, myopia towards the future, and the fear of schism in the present. |
